From which version

Aimloom 0.1.2 and earlier never use the network. From 0.1.3, Aimloom contacts aimloom.dev in the three cases below, and no other address.

When it uses the network

  1. When you choose "Send a report" in Settings and confirm.
  2. When you paste a Steam profile link in Settings: the link goes to aimloom.dev, which reads that profile's public SteamID and name.
  3. Once at launch, to ask whether a newer version exists; you can turn it off in Settings. It downloads one small public file, sends nothing about you, and never downloads or installs anything.

What a report contains

The Aimloom version, the Windows version and language, the engine Aimloom uses (0.1.5 and earlier send the PowerShell version; from 0.1.6, "Rust"), whether the game was found (not its path), the description and contact you typed, the Steam account you added, and the last part of the log. In the log, your Windows user name and PC name are replaced first; folder paths, such as where the game is installed, are kept, because they are needed to diagnose a problem. What you type is sent as you typed it. You can read everything that will be sent before you send it.

What is never sent

Aimloom never uploads game files, settings, Profiles or backups.

Where it is kept, and for how long

Reports are kept in private storage on Cloudflare and deleted after 180 days. No IP address is stored. The contact you give is used only to reply about that report. Your Steam account is kept on your PC; the server sees it only inside the reports you send.

Download counts on Explore

Explore counts how many times each file is requested for download each day: the file, the day and the count, nothing about who asked, no IP address and no browser details. Two clicks by one person count twice, so it is a count of download requests, not of people. Daily counts are kept for 90 days; after that only each file's monthly total is kept.

Signing in and uploading on the site

Only uploading to Explore needs a sign-in, and it uses Steam's. Signing in gives us your SteamID and nothing else from Steam, and the server keeps a sign-in record for 30 days (a hash of the token, the SteamID and the expiry). Your uploads are tied to your SteamID, but the page shows the name and link you typed; the SteamID is never shown. When an upload is reviewed or withdrawn, the server records the decision, its time and the SteamID of whoever made it (an admin, or you when you withdraw), keeps that record for a year, and never shows it on the site. To delete your sign-in, upload records or account data, write to feedback@aimloom.dev. Each upload also passes a Cloudflare Turnstile human check: it runs in your browser, and we pass only its one-time result to Cloudflare to confirm, never your IP address.

Sending a ticket on the site

When you send a ticket with Feedback on this site, we keep the kind you chose, your description, the contact you may leave, the page's language and the page you were on, and mail them to the maintainer. No IP address is kept. Before it is sent there is a Cloudflare Turnstile human check, as for uploads: we pass only its one-time result to Cloudflare to confirm. Tickets are deleted after 180 days; to have one deleted sooner, write to feedback@aimloom.dev with its number.

To delete or to ask

To have a report deleted earlier, or to ask anything, write to feedback@aimloom.dev with the report number.

Send a ticket

Tell us about a problem or an idea. For a problem inside the App, "Send a report…" in Aimloom's Settings works better: it attaches the log.
